Draw in your style challenge

There’s an interesting trend happening on Instagram. Artists are contributing to the “draw in your style” challenges… it’s a great way to get your art exposed to a lot more eyes! So I chose Angel Ganev’s challenge. Check him out his art is amazing. Can’t wait to see all the submissions. Mine’s the one on the left and Angel’s on the right.

Pink Haired Girl

I’m having so much fun splashing color everywhere! I’m really focusing on skin and making it look more realistic than my usual outline around the face and hair. The brush I use the most in Procreate right now is the airbrush… I paint with both the soft and hard versions. Nothing beats it for blending.

Loving Color!

I love drawing women’s faces. Love makeup and glamour! About 10 years ago I would create this type of art and sell prints on eBay. I would do themes for each holiday or whatever I came up with like magical creatures like fairies. Here’s the latest is that series.

Procreate practice

I’ve fallen in love with the app Procreate! Since I specialize in faces, portraits and caricature this app is fantastic. Here’s a time lapse video of a woman’s eye. There are so many great artists on YouTube I follow and I’ve really learned a lot. Check it out here.

Procreate Eye

My first blog post…

My first blog post…

I’ve delayed this for too long. It’s time to get this blog rolling! It’s about art, I’m about art, we’re all surrounded by art.

I love to draw eyes. It’s what I’m known for and that’s why I’m calling my blog “All Eyes on Art”.

We can do this! Join me on this journey of creating art and see where my inspiration comes from.

I’m excited to get started and with that I’ve got a few ideas for this blog.

I want to feature my illustrations for printable art, clip art downloads in my own store, collectible pin designs, t-shirt and Merch designs and on Fridays I’ll post my “Fabulous Faces Friday”!

I’d love to take suggestions from you…. if you want me to do a drawing of a famous person just put a comment to this post. I’d love to hear from you! I might even randomly pick a subscriber to draw…

And with that welcome to my blog!

Love,

Carolyn Joy
